Why did we name our company Time Matters Most? Because we truly believe that it does! I just spent a week with my father in hospice because he is dying of lung cancer. It’s so heartbreaking. And if you were to ask my dad what is something he wish he could have done more, he would say that he wished he would have spent more time with his kids and grandkids. Today we are consumed with many forms of entertainment that fight for our attention. Social media is the one form of entertainment that consumes our time and attention. It is a funny thing because as you are watching reels of someone else living their life, you are not living yours. I often tell that to my four kids. And time is funny because it will keep going whether we want it to or not. How often have you spent time on your phone and looked up and realize that an hour has gone by? Maybe even two. What else could you have done in that hour….call a friend, have a cup of tea, read a book to your child, check on your spouse and remind them how much you love them, hug your baby, meet a friend for some wine, play a game with your kids, go for a bike ride, bake cookies, or go for a walk. The question is, how are we using our time.

When you think of retirement, investing in your future probably comes to mind. If you want to be stronger in your faith, investing in time with God is important. If you want to have a strong family unit, investing in your spouse and your kids is vital. If you want to have a classroom full of children with strong character and empathy, you invest in getting to know them better and intentionally build a relationship with them, where your students know that they are loved and cared for. The only way to do this, is to talk to your child, children, or students. Let’s get talking are 3 very important words that will help you build connections and create strong relationships at home and in the classroom.

Included in this post is a free resource that will get you talking. Ask Me Anything includes questions that will help you learn more about your child or students, a holiday focus, and questions that are based on their imagination. Investing in your child, children or students is the greatest thing that you will ever do. Build a strong relationship by talking and asking questions! So get to their level, look them in the eyes, and listen to what they have to say. Time well spent! Because Time Matters Most!!
